Recruitment service for Sheffield and District Society members

The Society is pleased to announce the launch in May 2006 of RecruitaCA.co.uk which is a recruitment service to its members

RecruitaCA.co.uk facilitates the recruitment of chartered accountants who live in, or wish to work in, South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.

The key benefits to members are:

• A personal advert accessible only to approved employers can be placed on the site

• The site will list vacancies for chartered accountants

• The services are free

The key benefits to employers are:

• The “SearchaCA” facility can be used to scan the database to identify chartered accountants matching employers’ needs

• Jobs can be advertised, without charge, for chartered accountants

• This is a not-for-profit service and employers only pay a nominal fee of £100 if a candidate is successfully recruited

The site has been specifically designed for chartered accountants and is unique to the Sheffield & District Society.

The key issue of confidentiality is dealt with by allowing candidates to register a “Restricted Profile” under which no personal details are disclosed and candidates are simply identified with a number.

Carmel Smithson, who together with Kirsty Glasby-Hemmings, will administer the new site added:

“We have put a lot of effort into designing the site to ensure that confidentiality is maintained, for example, candidate details will only be available to employers that we approve.”

In launching RecruitaCA.co.uk, Chris Jones said:

“The Management Committee wanted to provide a free service to members to facilitate members’ employment. RecruitaCA.co.uk is a recruitment notice board – think of it as a dating agency – which will benefit both members, who are looking for work in South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire, and members who wish to employ chartered accountants in either practice or industry in our area.”

Chris added “The idea came to me after a number of highly qualified chartered accountants asked me if I knew of any job opportunities for them. Initially the idea was to provide a notice board that older members could use to advertise their skills. The idea was then developed as a service to all members. If this project is successful there is no reason why other District Societies cannot use it.”
